SAVED FROM DEATH ROW

Because one of our main purposes is to save animals, we encourage everyone who is looking for a pet to adopt from a shelter. There are millions of innocent, sweet, and loving dogs in our nation’s shelters. The magnitude of this tragedy is hard to grasp. Here are some numbers that may help shed light on the problem:

  • Per the ASPCA, there are approximately 6.5 million companion animals that enter shelters every year in the United States.
  • Each year, anywhere from 1.5 million to 3.7 million of those animals in shelters are euthanized. According to The Humane Society, about 80% of those killed are healthy and could have been adopted into new homes.
  • Twenty-five percent of shelter dogs are purebred!
